Knowing Me, Knowing You #11

Yeah! My favorite time of month. Time for the monthly interview with me! The Fairy Blogmother herself started it all and you can join at any time. So go on over and read all the posts, and do one yourself. Try it! You'll like it, I promise. But first, read mine!

1. What's your strategy for gift giving this Christmas?

With Thanksmas behind us, there isn't much in terms of gift buying for me. It's really only for the hubby and the jellybean. So it will all come down to what happens with the strike. Still on the picket line at Christmas, pretty much only a few little things for the jellybean. Back at work, a mad dash to finding a few lovely things at the last minute.

As for friends, we have always made stuff. Haven't for the life of me figured out what that might be yet. Suggestions always welcome.

2. How do you feel about the holiday news letter?

I've always liked receiving them. Never written one. I guess it's because I don't usually send Christmas cards. OK everyone, pick your jaws up from your laps. You see I am cheap. Very cheap. Really cheap. And I find it an incredible expense to send Christmas cards. I do how ever email all of my friends, every Christmas time. So you see, I'm not a complete Scrooge. Can we still be friends?

3. What's your favorite board game?

I love to play board games. I wish the hubby was the same. I would be perfectly happy to play games with friends every weekend. Oh, and card games too. I come from a long line of card players. Very french Canadian thing.

As a kid it was The Game of Life. Remember the original one with the little cars, and little plastic pegs that counted as your spouse and children. L-O-V-E-D that game. Now, I really enjoy crokinole, anything where you have to draw, ooh, and Scattergories. Love that one too. I'm sure there are tons more that I am just not thinking of.

Oh, does Guitar Heroes or Rock Band count? Don't own either them, but become instant friends with those who do.

4. What's your favorite cold weather comfort dish?

Home made mac and cheese. Mom's spaghetti sauce. Tortellini soup. Potato leek soup. Warm crusty bread with lots of salted butter.

5. What is your favorite new show this season?

I am really enjoying Modern Family and Community. Very funny. And I've got a little hooked on Flash Point, but I do have about 3 of them PVRed that I haven't made time to watch yet. I've caught a little of Cougartown, which has made me laugh, but don't make an effort to watch it. Glee I enjoy when I remember it's on.

Yes, I watch a lot of TV. Live with it.

I looooove board games, too. I find it's hard to find other adults who enjoy board games and card games. Luckily we have one couple-friends who like them a lot, too, so we have them over for "games night" once every month or two.

Do you like trivia games? I'm still looking for one person for my World Trivia Night team...want to come out?

I don't think I'll ever be organized enough to do a newsletter. I like getting them too. I'm a big Scrabble fan. Anything with words will grab my interest.

Fun interview!

Love all this info. Funny how fresh, warm crusty bread with SALTED butter would totally be on my list too!
